Born on April 21, 1960, in Kundrathur, Tamil Nadu, T.M. Anbarasan began his public life as a student volunteer for the DMK in the 1970s. For over four decades, he has remained a steadfast and influential force within the party.
A three-time elected MLA from the Alandur constituency (2006, 2016, and 2021), he has consistently earned the unwavering trust of his people. He served as the Minister for Labour Welfare from 2006 to 2011. Since May 7, 2021, he has been leading key portfolios as the Minister for Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME), Rural Industries, Cottage Industries, and the Tamil Nadu Urban Habitat Development Board.
His work has always been rooted in the welfare of the common man. He has championed opportunities for small-scale entrepreneurs, improved support systems for laborers, and worked tirelessly toward providing better housing and urban amenities. His career stands as a testament to his commitment to social justice, regional development, and administrative excellence.
